New Zealand Squad for Twenty20 World Cup 2012
New Zealand Twenty20 Squad for T20 World Cup 2012 is placed here. New Zealand set to rattle a few nerves.
New Zealand has played the most 20-over games among the 12 teams and has nourished a string of quality operators. They also have a remarkable big race temperament that becomes evident during 50-over World Cups. There’s still some clay left to be baked though.
No one can fault their fielding, which is of highest order, or batting that promises blitzkrieg. Brendan McCullum and Captain Ross Taylor are in a league of their own as power-packed hitters. Ryder and Guptill aren’t far behind and the team has a habit of putting insurmountable totals on board. That should come easy for them on placid pitches.
What dilutes their contention is an average fare in bowling. There is no guy with scorching pace and Shane Bond’s place remains unoccupied. Bracewell has however shown up as a competent bowler. Their spin section is more promising with the guile of Vettori. Nathan McCullum also mixes his cutters well.
New Zealand is bound to rattle a few teams in Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2012, if and when they reach there. They might ride a few hiccups having been grouped alongside Pakistan and Bangladesh in a group of death. They will count on murderous McCullum and rampaging Ross at the business end.
