ICC T20 World Cup 2012 Schedule Fixtures Time Table is placed here. Keeping with the constricted nature of the format, ICC T20 World Cup 2012 has been scheduled in a very compact manner. The initial rounds will be conducted from 18th to 25th September. After a day’s rest, Super Eights will start and will run till October 2nd. The semifinals are scheduled on 4th and 5th while the final is set to be played on Sunday, 7th October. Three venues have been selected to host the various matches; in Colombo, Kandy and Hambantota.
Every group is comprised of three teams, entailing three matches to be played in each group. ICC has seen to it that no team gets excessive rest nor can it complain of a hectic schedule. Hosts Sri Lanka starts the proceedings against Zimbabwe on 18th September. This is mainly to get direct involvement of the Lankan crowd into the tournament.
ICC has perhaps considered that Group D is hard done with all three teams; Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh commanding attention. Thus, the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh is wisely set to be the ultimate group round encounter. The match may have immense influence on the outcome of the tournament.
