T20 World Cup 2012 West Indies Team
West Indies Squad for Twenty20 World cup 2012
T20 World Cup 2012 West Indies Team is placed here. West Indies: Riding storm and Gayle.
It is sometimes hard to fathom that a team that was invincible in Seventies and Eighties are nothing more than pushovers in today’s cricket. However, the beauty of T20 cricket is that it reduces difference between teams. There is emphasis on power players and those who can make immediate impact. One name towers over other in the cricketing world when we talk of impact: Christopher Gayle. He tears all kinds of bowling attacks into smithereens and operates with merciless wanton. There has been some settlement with WICB and he may well take the flight to Colombo in September for T20 World Cup 2012.
In Pollard, the team has a Hound of the Baskerville who kills with looks and that brazen bat. Skipper Darren Sammy can launch a few ferocious shots, and Bravo brothers have enough experience to steady the ship. Together, they conjure a batting unit that can give nightmares to one and all.
The problem lies with their bowling. Roach does have fitness issues and Edwards is far from his fierce best. In Sunil Narine however, they have got a brilliant prospect that will enthrall with his spin on Lankan tracks. West Indies might have just an outside chance but they would be interesting to watch.
